In order to comply with the safety protocols designed to limit transmission of COVID-19 in the Music Building, please review the following resources.
1. Reserve Practice Rooms:
While Covid-19 protocols are in use at UM Music, practice rooms must be reserved to be used. Use this spreadsheet each week to find open times in your preferred practice rooms, and fill in your name to reserve a room. All students were invited to sign up for two locked-in, standing hour-long reservations per week, and those reservations are noted in blue. Feel free to visit the form weekly to sign up for additional practice times.
Even if you are in the building and want a practice room for an impromptu practice session, be sure to add your name to the reservation form to ensure that no one interrupts you, that the room gets the proper airing out time, and that contact tracing is possible (if needed). If you haven’t yet signed up for your two standing practice hours, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Review the required UM Music Safety Protocols for 2021 and indicate your willingness to take part when you visit the Protocol Agreement form.
3. Review pianist Adrienne Park’s instructions for cleaning pianos here:
UM Piano faculty member Adrienne Park explains how to clean and disinfect pianos before and after use. It’s an important way to stay safe in the midst of COVID-19, and it’s also required protocol for those who use practice rooms or who play pianos in classrooms and studios.
Check with your studio professor or email email@example.com for clarification on any policies related to COVID-19.
Thank you for your patience and participation!
