Music Major Advantage
The Music Major Advantage is a scholarship initiative of the Department of Music through which the department awards full-tuition packages up to $9000 for incoming music majors. Smaller scholarships are also available. Advantage scholarships for the 2020-2021 year have been awarded, but the Music Major Advantage will be back in early 2021 for the 2021-22 academic year.
During the Music Major Advantage weekend, prospective students can meet professors and students, sit in on classes, attend rehearsals, take a tour, audition, check out our beautiful campus and explore Oxford, one of America’s great small college towns. Details about the spring 2021 Music Major Advantage weekend will be posted in early 2021.

The University of Mississippi Department of Music offers paid assistantships to graduate students. If you are interested, please complete the application form, below, and email it to Dr. Rhonda Hackworth, Graduate Program Coordinator, at email@example.com.
Applications submitted by April 1st will receive priority consideration. After April 1st, assistantships will be awarded only if positions are still available.
There is a graduate assistantship in the string area available starting January 1, 2021. Applications for this position are being accepted now. For information specific to the string area, please contact Dr. Selim Giray.
